Most things just taste a little better with butter. There probably is no great cook in the world who wouldn’t agree. And yet, butter has had its share of ups and downs and there have been times when it has become the villain of the piece when it comes to putting on weight.
However, you just can’t keep a good ingredient down and so it has, in the present day and age, bounced back to centre stage. After all, it’s been around with us for an estimated 10,000 years and there have been references made to it 4500 years ago on a limestone tablet that gave pretty clear instructions on how to make it.
And they are now telling us that butter is good for us, had in moderation of course. Would any cake or any cookie taste as good without butter? No way!
It’s made from good, wholesome milk, or rather the cream that has been separated from milk. You can churn the cream right away to get butter or you can ferment it and then churn it. Either way, butter just makes life a little better!
