Dairy Greenhouse Gas Emissions Cut
The Innovation Center for US Dairy has joined hands with the US Department of Agriculture in order to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases by around 25% over the next ten years. What is amazing is that a plan has already been put into place so that the dairy industry can achieve these targets while still maintaining its optimum levels of financial gains. It’s an ideal balance between environmental concerns and farmers’ livelihoods. It also includes using the manure to produce electricity which could benefit the farmers even more. There has already been a lot of efficiency introduced into the dairy industry which has resulted in lower gas emissions – now, there will be even more cuts without drastically affecting the industry.
