In Chicago, Illinois, there opens one of the most modern state of the art R&D centres and it’s been set up by Fonterra, New Zealand. The company has invested around two and a half million US$ in the venture and it’s a place where people can come, see, observe, touch and taste all kinds of dairy products.
It’s breaking new ground in dairy innovation and it also a strengthening of ties between the US and the NZ dairy industries. The staff in this facility will help customers identify and formulate products for their own companies and of course, many of the Fonterra ingredients will be showcased and there will be demonstrations on how they can be used for best results. The facility has processing equipment that is the latest as well as a lab to analyse samples. They also house a site from where their ingredients can be picked up.
