There’s been a lot of research going on at Friesland Foods on immune boosting proteins. They are incorporating a technology that has been developed by Lactive and combined with studies by the Animal Sciences Group which purifies milk proteins and gives them specific health and nutrition benefits. This would mean that we could soon see a range of infant as well as regular foods being launched with food ingredients that are disease resistant.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs has given the project grants to take this forward. The MD of Friesland Foods looks forward to foods playing a very important role in health, nutrition as well as prevention and cure in the days to come. The company Lactive came into being solely to ensure that proteins in milk be developed for health enhancing properties. In the final analysis, if foods can be a conduit for health, it could just be the greatest technology yet!
