Montfort Spreads The Blue Cheese Message

September 10th, 2008

This little town in Wisconsin is the largest producer of blue cheese in the US today and no other state can compete with it. How do these cheeses get their blue veins? When they are maturing, they have mold cultures which are added. And it is this that gives them their flavor and the color. This tangy cheese is suddenly finding favor with the American palate and they can’t get enough of it.

What’s more the cheese has been getting recognition by way of prizes too. Last year, it earned top prize at the US Championship Cheese Contest.
