Raw Milk Peeps Out From Underground
It’s been whispered about and there have been so many people writing about it with authority. This in spite of the fact that it is illegal to sell raw milk in most developed countries for human consumption. In Canada, if caught, they could be fined $250,000 and be jailed for three years. However, there are always ways and means for people to get what they want. And raw milk seems to be the new mantra these days.
In Australia, raw milk can’t be sold to drink either – but the news is that there are a lot of people drinking it anyway. From a bottle labeled Cleopatra’s Bath Milk that is supposed to be for cosmetic use. And there are reports that a restaurant that specializes in serving organic food recently served up two flavors of ice-cream – both did not need sweetening because raw milk has its own sweetness.
There are a lot of people who grow up on farms who swear by raw milk and think the pasteurized varieties available off the shop shelves are a poor substitute. Raw milk is also supposed to have health giving properties that get destroyed when it undergoes heat treatment.
