Say Goodbye To Hypertension With Low Fat Milk?
A few months ago, a study that was reviewed in a hypertension journal said that adding low fat milk to one’s daily food could be one way of reducing high blood pressure. Considering that so many thousands in America die each year of this condition, this might be well worth a try. This was especially so with women over 45 where there was a marked improvement in those who took low fat milk daily. Somehow, the same results did not show up with those who took vitamin D and calcium tablets.
What also seemed to emerge was the fact that while a fruit and vegetable-rich diet was great for conditions like these, when low fat milk was added to it, it had a much greater effect. Of course, there have been connections already seen with young children and adults but this study with older women also proved just how beneficial milk, especially when it is low fat, can be.
Towards this end, the dairy ingredient giant, DSM is developing a dietary supplement in its Nutritional Products Division which could be a supplement and could be used as an additive to foods and drinks.
