Yogurt From Nigeria’s Nagari Farms
Nagari Farms has started distribution of its yogurt throughout the country. The farm has been around since the early 80s but it is only recently that they have upgraded their facilities and are today supplying quality products through many of the stores across Nigeria. They have meticulously set up plants to make milk products from the grassroots level, taking great care every step of the way so that the end products are of world-class standards, able to compete on quality with the best internationally.
Their latest modern plant can make 4000 liters of yogurt every hour. Together with experts from Germany, this plant ensures that only the best goes out. It took time to set up and to maintain these high levels of quality. Towards this end, pregnant heifers were brought from Holland at an enormous price. Once they had their calves, the heifers were producing over twenty-five liters of milk a day which was roughly 20 liters more than what they would have got from a local heifer. In fact, there are some that produce over 40 liters a day!
Today, Nagari farms sends out ten thousand half liter packs and five thousand one liter packs every day. That’s a lot of yogurt!
